Find us on FACEBOOK. Check in, tell us if you "Like" us :O) Post thoughts on the wall, or your own photos! You don't even need a facebook account! We are so busy that our gallery has not been updated for a LONG time, but LOTS of new photos on facebook. CHECK US OUT!!!

We apologize for any inconvenience, but we will be closed for the christmas holidays starting sat. dec 17 - thurs. jan 5. re-opening on fri jan 6th, normal hours. we will not be checking email, so please re-send any emails after jan 6 to be sure we receive them.

PLEASE NOTE: we are often booked 4 - 6 weeks out. if you are an existing customer w/ an emergency we will ALWAYS do our best to accommodate you as quickly as we can! if you have any problem w/ a new bike or our wheels we will take care of it IMMEDIATELY, just call or drop by after 2 any day. and if you are a new customer wanting to talk about a custom bike, a large project, or a new set of wheels, just give us a call and make an appointment, we are happy to set a date, usually within a week. we can also often squeeze wheel builds into small gaps if you absolutely cannot wait! and bike builds generally take a minimum of 4 weeks no matter what time of year. for any repair jobs PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE to make an appointment, turnaround time is only a day or 2 if you are booked in. so if you are planning a big trip and want work done before you go, remember to leave a good chunk of time to give us notice!

HOURS are:
we are OPEN to the PUBLIC: 2:00-6:00 friday and 12-5 saturday
we are open BY APPOINTMENT ONLY on tues - thurs
we are CLOSED sunday, monday

For all of you who wonder about our hours... that does not mean we work a 9 hour week, as many people like to tease us about :O) unfortunately, we have been working an 80 hour week for the last MANY months and cannot continue to do so without serious repurcussions... a one person, full-on retail bike shop is just not feasible. so we are making some changes to try to make it more manageable.

As we told you in our introduction, we do not operate exactly like all other retail stores. We have tried for 4 years to be as much a retail store as we could, but it is proving unsustainable. Because we are a one person shop, we need to be closed to actually get work done - tune-ups, bike and wheel builds, not to mention paperwork, placing orders, unpacking boxes, and cleanup - all have to happen sometime! When we are open we are flooded w/ customers needing our attention. So the only time we can actually get work done is when we are closed. We know this is not a perfect system. But it does insure that every job is done to perfection and is guaranteed. When you leave w/ your new bike, or your handbuilt wheel, or your repair, it should be 100%. No coming back for things we missed. Since no one but jett grrl works on it, she knows EXACTLY what was done. And that is was done to her satisfaction :O) We know it is not a perfect solution, but the only other options at this point are going to appointment only all the time, or closing our doors entirely.

We have tried hiring mechanics - the most important thing for us is that any employee be able to maintain the quality you have come to expect from us - but we have yet to find the right fit. we have tried working 16 hour days, but that is not sustainable, and is killing us, and the studio cannot continue in that vein. so we remain a one woman show. until that changes (and it may never) we hope you will be understanding. we do our best to accommodate everyone's needs, but we also have to look out for our own. we pride ourselves on the QUALITY of work we do here. if you have heard it is worth the small inconvenience, it is :O)

Our address is 247 union st. this is on the adanac bike route, between main and gore (chinatown/strathcona). please call to chat about the bike of your dreams, or come in during open hours to do the same, or pick up a helmet, lock, or lights, check out the most killer handmade leather saddles and wooden fenders on the market, or browse some some of our funky components - loads of track hubs and cranks, chris king headsets, thomson stems, paul brakes, colored chains and much much more :O)

FYI, we finally have email at the studio so you can pretty much reach us all the time...!
